How to Make an Insulin Leaves Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 teaspoons of dried insulin plant leaves or 2-3 fresh leaves
  • Water
  • Optional: honey or sugar for sweetness

Equipment:

  • Teapot or saucepan
  • Tea strainer or infuser
  • Cups or mugs

Instructions:

  1. Measure out your desired amount of dried insulin plant leaves or pick 2-3 fresh leaves from the plant.
  2. Rinse the leaves in cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
  3. Boil the water in a teapot or saucepan.
  4. Add the insulin plant leaves to the boiling water and reduce the heat to a simmer.
  5. Let the tea simmer for around 10-15 minutes to allow the flavor and properties of the leaves to infuse into the water.
  6. Remove the tea from heat and strain the leaves out using a tea strainer or remove the infuser from the pot.
  7. If desired, add honey or sugar to sweeten the tea.
  8. Pour the insulin plant leaves tea into cups or mugs and enjoy!

Note: The insulin plant (Costus igneus) is also known as Fiery Costus or Spiral Flag, and it is used in traditional medicine to help regulate blood sugar levels. However, it’s important to note that there is limited scientific research on the effectiveness and safety of using the insulin plant for medicinal purposes. If you have diabetes or any other medical conditions, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating the insulin plant or any other herbs into your routine.
